Our team of Presenters host the daily shows that go out 24 hours a day on our network. Some programmes are pre-recorded others, especially the daily Request programmes, go out live.

We rarely, if ever, recruit Presenters directly into this role. All of our current Presenters have helped in other roles before being trained to present one of our shows. This makes sure they have a thorough understanding of Hospital Radio. It can be a very different environment to other radio work. Most radio presenters only concentrate on one type of music throughout a particular show – with a Hospital Radio Request Programme you might be presenting anything from Beethoven to Beyoncé in the same hour!

Studio Help

Studio helpers assist the presenter, locating music in our record library and researching for the show.

Request Collectors

A team of people who go around the wards, chat to patients to find out what they want to hear on the radio.
